Would you like to ride along the same road that Sherman’s troops marched to the sea on? If so, then the Pine Tree Breeze is the bike ride for you!
Enjoy a 10, 30, 50, 62, or 100 mile bike ride through scenic East Central Georgia countryside and towns.
THIS IS A CHARITY RIDE FOR THE HERRINGTON HOMESTEAD FOR GIRLS AND BOYS.
The Pine Tree Breeze is a century ride that covers two counties. Centered in Swainsboro, the ride has many historical features. Birdsville Plantation, founded in 1785, is one of the many points of interest featured on the route. Another point of interest, Herndon Plantation, located on the Ogeechee River, is where Sherman once set up camp on his March to the Sea. Also featured on the ride are the towns of Canoochee, Modoc, and Summertown.
After the ride stay awhile to enjoy the atmosphere of beautiful Swainsboro, Georgia. Stroll through the campus of East Georgia College, dine at one of many local restaurants, or visit the Emanuel Arts Center near downtown Swainsboro. Other area attractions include the George L. Smith State Park outside Twin City, and Magnolia Springs north of Millen.
The Pine Tree Breeze cycling tour follows a largely flat course through rural East Central Georgia along the northern edge of the Coastal Plain. The ride is primarily based in Emanuel County, known for its hospitality in hosting the BRAG and other regional rides. This is the 11th year for the ride, which will be sure to please cycling enthusiasts.
